Which colors promote better rest

A soothing shade of violet blue
The most soothing shade is blue, while red is more stimulating. So, you may wish to invest in a blue comforter or paint your walls blue (or both), rather than using a lot of energizing red in your bedroom!
In addition to promoting great rest, blue is believed to alleviate illnesses and to relieve pain. Since being in a blue room may even lower blood pressure and slow down breathing and heart rate, it’s definitely a stellar choice for a bedroom.

Green echoes the relaxing environment of nature
Green is also believed to have stress-relieving properties, perhaps because it echoes the beauty of grass and leaves. Green is linked with feelings of safety! If blue isn’t your favorite, choosing green for your bedroom may help you to sleep deeply at night.
True green is a strong color, so you may wish to limit your usage of green to accents, such as throw blankets, pillow shams and chair cushions. Keep the rest of the room neutral (eggshell walls, for example) in order to balance the impact of spring green. Cooler, pastel shades of green should also work very well…
Cool versus warm colors
With the exception of spring green, the cooler shades on the color wheel are always better choices for the bedroom, so stay away from the warmest shades, such as yellow, orange and red.
Red, orange and yellow are warm, energetic shades
All of these warm tones are about energy and aggression. This is why you won’t find many waiting rooms of family physicians painted in red, orange or yellow. Since people already hate waiting, doctors prefer soothing tones for their waiting rooms! These soothing tones help to keep people calm as they watch the clock.
To get great sleep, you’re better off decorating with blue, green or cool pastels.
